With immense pleasure, we would like to share that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) and United International University (UIU) on 7 October 2024, at 3:00 PM, at the UIU campus. The event aimed to strengthen collaborative research initiatives between institutions, enhancing academic and practical contributions to various fields of study. This MoU shall be implemented under the joint coordination authority of the Center for Research Innovation and Transformation (CRITS-GUB) and the Institute for Advanced Research (IAR- UIU).
The MoU, signed by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of GUB, and Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of UIU, solidifies our commitment to collaboration and innovation.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished members of the Green University of Bangladesh, including Hon. Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Registrar, Captain (Navy) S M Salahuddin, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Prof. Dr. M Shahidullah, Chairperson of Dept. of CSE, Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahaman, Chairperson of Green Business School, Mr. Mahmud Wahid, Director of CRIT, Dr. Molla Shahadat Hossain Lipu and Coordinator of CRIT, Ms. Zinat Sultana.
Representing the UIU were Honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor, Deans and Directors of different Departments and Sections, and Executive Director of the Institute for Advanced Research (IAR), Professor Emeritus Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, who played instrumental roles in facilitating the collaboration between the two institutions.
The terms and conditions of the MoU stipulate that UIU/IAR will issue calls for research grants in accordance with its internal award cycle, inviting GUB core faculty, through CRIT, to engage in UIU-funded collaborative research projects. GUB/CRIT core faculty may serve as either Principal Investigators or Co-Investigators; when a GUB faculty member acts as Principal Investigator, the cost-sharing will be 50% from UIU and 50% from GUB, while no cost-sharing is required when serving as Co-Investigator.
The research MoU between GUB and UIU is significant as it fosters collaborative efforts that enhance the quality and scope of academic research, leveraging the strengths of both institutions. This partnership not only facilitates innovative projects but also promotes knowledge exchange and resource sharing, ultimately contributing to the advancement of research.
